Question One: What qualities does a person need to possess to be in this type of position?
Response: Hardworking and determined, well rounded, physically and mentally.
Question Two: How much flexibility do you have in terms of hours of work, vacation, etc?
Response: Hardly any, low on officers, big agency, big flexibility. Small agency, less flexibility.
Question Three: Do you work a lot of overtime?
Response: Yes, 12 hours shift, over 80 hours within two weeks is considered overtime, technically works overtime everyday.
Question Four: What inspired you to choose your career?
Response: Came home for the weekend and family friend, CHP asked if he would like to go for a ride along and after that he enjoyed it.

Response: Definitely need to know how to talk to someone.

Response: Made more on guard when off duty.

Response: Go on a lot of ride alongs, helps you test out and see a bit of what it's all about.
